Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional manual machining experience.
• Expert in operating manual mills and lathes.
• Ability to hold tight tolerances consistently.
• Strong knowledge of cutting tools, materials, and machining strategies.
• Must provide your own professional tools.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple jobs.
• Willingness to participate in EOS and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete machine setup, tramming, alignment, and calibration with precision.
• Select cutters, inserts, collets, arbors, and workholding based on experience.
• Build fixtures and create rigid setups to eliminate chatter and drift.
• Read complex blueprints, GD&T, and multi-operation sequences accurately.
• Machine operations including turning, facing, boring, threading, drilling, tapping, contouring, and slotting.
• Optimize feeds and speeds to maximize tool life while maintaining tolerance.
• Machine various metals and plastics, holding ±0.001" or tighter.
• Record measurements and maintain traceability in inspection docs.
• Perform routine maintenance and accuracy checks.
• Diagnose chatter, taper, vibration, and tool wear; propose improvements.
• Independently manage multiple jobs and participate in EOS Level 10.
• Help build a shop culture that respects craftsmanship.
