Job summary

Flow Control Group is seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to operate conventional machine tools in a dedicated Griffin, GA shop. The ideal candidate will read engineering drawings, measure parts with micrometers, and maintain tight tolerances while setting up and running lathes and milling machines.

Safety, accuracy, and reliability are essential. You will work with lathes, milling machines, and VTLs, perform tool changes and setups, and help ensure quality parts meet specifications in a busy

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating manual machine tools in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
• Reading engineering drawings and blueprints to tolerance.
• Must be able to read and accurately use a micrometer.
• Ability to measure components and verify dimensions against tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes, vertical milling machines, vertical turret lathes (VTLs), and horizontal milling machines.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, dimensions, and machining specifications.
• Measure and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring tools.
• Demonstrate the ability to read and accurately use inside and outside micrometers.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining methods for various materials and machining operations.
• Perform turning, facing, boring, drilling, milling, and other conventional machining operations as required.
• Verify that finished components meet dimensional requirements, tolerances, and quality standards.
• Perform machine setups, tool changes, adjustments, and routine maintenance as needed.
• Identify machining issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain part quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures, quality requirements, and work instructions.
