Job summary

MS Directional, LLC is seeking a Senior Machinist in Conroe, TX to oversee manual lathe operations and ensure precise part measurements for mud motor components. The role reports to the Machine Shop Supervisor and emphasizes safety, quality, and mentorship of junior staff.

You will inspect parts, repair equipment, and implement QA/QC procedures while troubleshooting machining challenges and coordinating with engineering to resolve design issues.

Qualifications

• Solid experience using various measuring equipment.
• Ability to operate an overhead crane.
• Clear vision to maintain safety and accuracy in measurements.
• Know-how with tools and materials used in machining.
• Broad knowledge of machining techniques for advanced setups.
• Proficient use of cutting tools and measuring equipment.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings.
• Ability to troubleshoot machining operations independently.
• Lead by example and mentor junior machinists.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inspection of all parts produced or machined.
• Repair all equipment brought to the machine shop.
• Provide effective QA/QC procedures during production.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining operation problems.
• Perform secondary machining operations as required.
• Analyze component configurations to improve efficiency.
• Assess worn parts to determine repair or replacement needs.
• Collaborate with engineering and supervision to resolve design issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance duties as scheduled.
• Train lower-level machinists and review work assignments.
• Document inspections, test results, and repairs.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and organization.
• Safely operate forklift to move equipment.
• Load machine with workpieces or raw materials.
• Ensure CAD drawings and GD&T are correctly applied.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
