Job summary

MS Directional, LLC seeks a Senior Machinist to oversee CNC lathe operations cutting mud motor parts. You’ll ensure accuracy, perform QA/QC before parts leave the lathe, and inspect every piece visually for quality.

You will report to the Machine Shop Supervisor and work with engineering and supervisory staff to troubleshoot design issues, maintain equipment, and mentor junior machinists while handling multiple tasks safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC lathe experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Must live within 1 hour driving distance of the shop.
• Experience with inspection and QA/QC processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inspection of all parts produced or machined.
• Repair equipment brought to the machine shop.
• Provide effective QA/QC procedures during production.
• Troubleshoot machining operations independently.
• Perform secondary machining operations as required.
• Analyze component parts for efficiency in machining.
• Assess worn parts to determine repairs or replacements.
• Collaborate with engineering to resolve design issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled.
• Train lower-level machinists and answer questions.
• Document inspections and test results.
• Oversee cleanliness and organization of the shop.
• Safely operate forklift and load materials.
• Read CAD drawings and GD&T for setups.
