Job summary

MS Directional, LLC seeks a Sr. Machinist to oversee CNC lathe work crafting mud motor parts with tight tolerances. You will inspect parts, perform QA/QC, and ensure accurate measurements from start to finish.

The role reports to the Machine Shop Supervisor and requires mentoring junior machinists, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment. Occasional field presence and strong PPE compliance are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 5+ years of experience running a CNC lathe.
• Must live within 1 hour driving distance of the shop.
• Available for on-call rotation and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inspection of all parts produced or machined.
• Repair equipment in the machine shop.
• Provide effective QA/QC procedures during production.
• Troubleshoot machining operations independently and resolve issues.
• Perform secondary machining operations as needed.
• Analyze component parts for dimensional efficiency in machining.
• Assess worn parts for repair or replacement.
• Collaborate with engineering and supervisory staff to resolve issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled.
• Train junior machinists and review work.
