Job summary

State of Indiana is seeking a Senior Managing Attorney to lead the Legal Department’s state and federal contract compliance oversight and investigations. The role supports the General Counsel and helps manage day-to-day operations within IHCDA’s Legal Department.

The salary for this position starts at $93,000.00 and may be commensurate with education and experience. A Compensation Calculator is available to view total compensation.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in Indiana in good standing.
• 5+ years of relevant legal experience as a practicing attorney.
• Experience in real estate law, property law, contract law, affordable housing, government assistance programs, or grant administration/compliance strongly preferred.
• At least 1–2 years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Legal Department activities including contracts drafting and negotiation and procurement policy compliance.
• Litigation in foreclosure cases where IHCDA has an interest.
• Draft, review, and negotiate real estate transaction documents (notes, mortgages, liens, subordination, covenants).
• Ensure compliance with Open Door and Public Records laws and manage response systems.
