State of Indiana is seeking a seasoned attorney to provide legal counsel on real estate, utilities, environmental, administrative law, and related matters. You will draft contracts, offer regulatory advice, and support agency operations from INDOT Central Office in Indianapolis.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, is licensed in Indiana, and can manage complex transactional work while supervising junior attorneys. Competitive compensation and extensive benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Jurisprudence with 5+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney.
• Indiana Bar Admission in good standing.
• Demonstrated knowledge of statutes, case law, and rules.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to use case management systems to manage dockets and records.
• Strong legal research, writing, and litigation skills.

Responsabilités

• Advises and provides legal support to agency staff on program and legal areas.
• Oversees, drafts, reviews, or provides legal advice relating to contracts.
• Researches, interprets, and applies laws, rules, policies, and opinions to agency operations.
• Drafts legislation and administrative rules; manages hearings and related documents.
• Supervises and trains staff, sets expectations, and evaluates performance.
