Job summary

The Nielsen Company is seeking a Senior Manager of Vulnerability Assessment to lead a security-first engineering team focused on modernizing our DevSecOps posture in a large-scale AWS environment.

You will drive AI-driven automation, implement PaC guardrails, and partner with Platform Engineering to embed security into development workflows. Expect governance, metrics, and robust risk management as core outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in specialized Application Security/Cloud Engineering roles, with at least 3 years in leadership.
• Proficiency in AWS security governance and automated incident mitigation in large-scale cloud ecosystems.
• Mastery of CI/CD orchestration, containerization safeguards, and SAST/DAST/SCA integration in developer workflows.
• Advanced automation capabilities and building security tooling; familiarity with AI-enhanced security tech (LLMs).
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience; track record of leading teams and partnering with software/platform teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing Application Security engineering team; align priorities with business goals.
• Drive an autonomous, AI-driven DevSecOps security strategy with robust guardrails and secure AI-assisted development.
• Partner with Platform Engineering to define cloud security baselines and PaC guardrails.
• Oversee application penetration testing, ensure triage and remediation within SLAs.
• Establish observability, SBOM, automated CI/CD security gates, and risk-approval workflows.
• Refine scanning telemetry (SAST/DAST/SCA/IaC) to reduce false positives and deliver actionable intel.
• Design automated response triggers in AWS for rapid isolation and containment.
• Embed security into native development workflows (IDEs, CI/CD pipelines).
• Architect KPIs like MTTR and Auto-Fix Acceptance Rates to demonstrate program efficacy.
