Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a Lead Vulnerability Management Engineer to own the architecture, design, and long-term strategy for vulnerability management across its global infrastructure. You will lead the evaluation of security technologies, architect scalable remediation workflows, and drive AI-enabled automation of the vulnerability lifecycle.

This role requires hands-on leadership, collaboration with Engineering, Infrastructure, and Product teams, and a focus on reducing risk and ensuring audit

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Vulnerability Management experience in senior/lead role.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Security.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical lead for the Vulnerability Management team, providing architectural guidance and mentoring team members on complex technical challenges.
• Lead the architecture, systems design, technology evaluation, and systems integration for the global VM program, ensuring tooling is embedded across the stack.
• Oversee advanced vulnerability scanning, validate findings, filter false positives, and triage critical risks.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to drive remediation or mitigation of complex vulnerabilities.
• Strategically manage remediation backlog and report on risk reduction trends.
• Design and implement AI-driven solutions to automate vulnerability lifecycle tasks.
• Contribute to global vulnerability management standards, procedures, and playbooks.
• Translate technical vulnerabilities for the GRC team to support audits (SOC-2, PCI-DSS, FedRAMP).
• Own the reporting and evidence generation for audits, ensuring scanning cadences meet baselines.
• Interpret regulatory requirements into actionable scanning policies and integrate checks into the program
