Job summary

Nielsen seeks a Senior Manager, Vulnerability Assessment to lead a high-performing security engineering team within Product Security. You will drive cloud and application security initiatives, shaping AI-driven workflows and secure development practices across the SDLC.

You will partner with Platform Engineering to set baselines, manage risk with PaC guardrails, and enable rapid remediation while measuring MTTR and remediation rates.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in specialized roles across Application Security or Cloud Engineering, incl. 3+ years in management.
• Proficiency in designing AWS security governance and automated incident mitigation at scale.
• Technical mastery of CI/CD orchestration, container safeguards, and SAST/DAST/SCA in developer workflows.
• Advanced automation abilities to architect security tooling.
• Familiarity with AI-enhanced security tech such as LLM-driven remediation and auto code fixes.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field; staff/principal engineering background.
• Proven ability to partner with software engineering and platform teams without command-and-control.
• Elite certifications: AWS Certified Security – Specialty or AWS Solutions Architect – Professional.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor an Application Security engineering team, fostering professional development and aligning team priorities with organizational goals and operational challenges.
• Define cloud security baselines and PaC guardrails in collaboration with Platform Engineering.
• Oversee application penetration testing triage and remediation within SLAs.
• Establish observability, SBOM, and automated CI/CD security gates across the lifecycle.
• Implement prioritization protocols to resolve vulnerabilities in cloud and application environments.
• Calibrate SAST/DAST/SCA telemetry to minimize false positives and enhance actionable intelligence.
• Design automated response triggers within AWS for rapid isolation and runtime threat containment.
• Embed security into native development workflows (IDEs, CI/CD).
• Report on MTTR and Auto-Fix Acceptance Rates to show program efficacy.
