Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp is seeking a Manager of Transmission Planning to lead a team of supervisors and engineers responsible for transmission and subtransmission planning across the FirstEnergy system.

The role focuses on ensuring safe, reliable operation, coordinating with PJM, RFC, and NERC, and managing studies, interconnections, and the EtF capital portfolio. Travel within the service territory is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET accredited institution is required.
• A Professional Engineer's (PE) License is preferred or be willing to obtain.
• Minimum of 7 years of related work experience is required.
• Previous experience in Transmission Planning, Transmission Operations, Regulatory/Compliance, Project Management, Operating Company and/or field experience preferred.
• Previous experience supervising or managing employees preferred.
• Proficient (or demonstrated capability to become proficient) in the use of power system analysis software PSLF, PSS/E, TARA and other related planning software.
• Familiar with PJM, RFC and NERC practices, procedures, and requirements in transmission planning.
