Job summary

The New Terminal One at JFK is seeking a dynamic Senior Manager, Operations to oversee daily terminal and airside operations, including the VACR, and to serve as a trusted liaison with airlines, agencies, and partners. You will lead a high-performing team, drive safety, efficiency, and guest experience in a complex, state-of-the-art international terminal.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in airline and airport operations.
• Self-driven, critical thinker with strong relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and focus on guest needs with high emotional intelligence.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and computer skills, including proficiency in SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in an aviation leadership role.
• High school graduation: relevant university or college degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the terminal personnel and programs to elevate airport terminal operation and guest experience.
• Drive operational excellence across the entire terminal, balancing efficiency and guest satisfaction.
• Coordinate with VP Operations and ITOCC Director to align priorities and activities.
• Serve as primary contact for terminal-related activities with airlines, government agencies, and stakeholders.
• Act as Incident Commander during EOC activations and emergencies.
• Monitor performance metrics and guest experience standards, drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee VACR team and ensure shared resources align with capacity measurements.
• Develop and maintain operational procedures and training for key systems and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with SMS, safety policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and develop team members and manage staffing models and finance objectives.

Education
