Strategy is a critical function at the Hershey Company, responsible for shaping enterprise-wide, business unit, and functional strategies. Our US Commercial Strategy team acts as a critical advisor to the Global and US Leadership Teams by framing key choices, providing a well-reasoned point of view, and ensuring choices are made and effectively translated into action.
Sr. Manager, US Commercial Strategy
As a member of the team, a Strategy Sr. Manager is expected to have a keen understanding of business dynamics and an ability to generate valuable insights for action. He/she will advise senior leaders as a key thought leader, communicating viewpoints in a clear and compelling manner.
* Assisting in the planning and execution of the 3-year Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan for our US Confection business annually
* Maintaining an external mindset that brings together consumer, customer, competitive and macroeconomic trends
* Owning and executing strategy projects with minimal oversight
* Leading complex problem solving and addressing strategic issues/decisions as needed
* Managing, developing, and mentoring small teams of indirect reports on projects from beginning to end with a great deal of autonomy
* Synthesizing and analyzing multiple internal and external data sources including point-of-sale, household panel, inventory, shipments, P&L statements, etc., to drive to business recommendation and strategies
Education: Bachelor's degree required, MBA or equivalent marketplace experience highly preferred
Experience: 8+ years of combined experience in leading CPG company or strategic consulting firm. CPG experience highly preferred. Management expertise. Experience leading strategic and data-driven recommendations and decisions. Understanding of market research and techniques. Experience driving change in a complex business environment. Fluency with Excel and PowerPoint.
