Job summary

Builders FirstSource seeks a Senior Manager, IT – Software Engineering and Development, to lead the Project Elevate development team. You will set engineering direction, manage senior engineers and partners, and ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions across SAP S/4HANA and BTP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
• Ten or more years of software-engineering or enterprise-application experience, including SAP environments.
• Five or more years in people leadership, delivery leadership, or technical-team management.
• Experience leading custom SAP solutions through requirements, architecture and design, estimation, development, and testing.
• Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA extensibility, ABAP, RAP, CDS, Fiori/UI5, APIs, and cloud-based extension approaches.
• Experience establishing secure coding, DevSecOps, release governance, and lifecycle practices.
• Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Project Elevate application-development function from demand intake through deployment and transition to support.
• Manage Senior Engineers, engineers, contractors, and delivery partners; set goals and ensure quality, schedule, and outcomes.
• Set technical direction, standards, and governance for SAP and BTP solutions.
• Ensure designs translate requirements into complete technical designs, estimates, and deployment plans.
• Govern SAP/ABAP/Fiori/BTP components; engage in high-risk or business-critical decisions.
• Champion clean-core principles and API-first extensibility.
• Provide governance across SAP S/4HANA, ABAP, RAP, CDS, Fiori/UI5, and API-based integration.
• Oversee change and transport processes, production validation, and post-live support.
• Develop reusable patterns, templates, and CI/CD improvements for SDLC.
