Job summary

Meta in Seattle is seeking a Manager of Global Research Operations to implement operational systems and manage processes that support the research team’s most impactful work.

You will lead a multi-disciplinary group, partner with cross-functional teams, and drive improvements across research operations. This role requires strategic thinking, strong communication, and a proven ability to scale operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in operations or project management.
  • 8+ years if you have an advanced degree.
  • 3+ years people management experience.
  • 2+ years in UX Research or directly supporting UX Researchers.
  • Proven track record of identifying pain points and delivering improvements.
  • Experience communicating with executives and product teams.
  • Experience budgeting and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience scaling operations in a business environment.

  • Move initiatives forward, secure resources, and resolve blockers.
  • Maintain progress and manage schedule risk with respectful relationships.
  • Predict roadblocks and coordinate cross-team integration points.
  • Prioritize competing needs with clear reasoning and solutions.
  • Improve Research Program Management processes and tools.
  • Collaborate with FOA UX Research team and leadership to improve processes.
  • Build trusted relationships with Legal, Privacy, Policy, Finance, Facilities, Security.
  • Leverage data to analyze trends and define goals.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team with varying experience levels.

As a Manager of Global Research Operations, you will implement operational systems and manage processes to support the research team, ensuring they can perform their most impactful work. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead strategic planning of programs while building relationships across the organization.

Responsibilities

Move initiatives forward, find resources, raise concerns to appropriate owners early and resolve open issues that prevent progress

Hold the line when schedule or progress is in jeopardy while maintaining respectful relationships

Predict roadblocks and obstacles and establish meetings or integration points between teams

Prioritize competing needs with reasoning and solutions

Contribute to overall Research Program Management team processes and tools, initiating improvements where needed

Engage, partner, and collaborate with FOA UX Research team members and leadership to proactively identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness of our research process

Build and maintain a trusted, cooperative relationship with internal cross-functional partners (e.g., Legal, Privacy, Policy, Finance, Facilities, Security)

Utilize strategic tools, systems, and data to help the team analyze trends and deliver insights to define goals and improve processes

Lead a multi-disciplinary team with varying levels of experience

Required

10+ years of experience in operations or project/program management. 8+ years of experience if you have an advanced degree

3+ years people management experience

2+ years in UX Research or directly supporting UX Researchers

Proven track record of breaking down processes and identifying pain points to deliver business improvements

Experience communicating with a variety of audiences ranging from product team members to directors/VPs

Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional groups to produce results

Experience developing and managing a budget

Experience scaling operations in a business environment

Preferred

Experience with research operations, participant recruiting teams, lab facility management

Experience leading a globally distributed team

Social networking and immersive augmented/virtual reality technologies.
