Job summary

TerraPower is seeking a Manager, Core Components Manufacturing to lead the Natrium Fuel Design and Supply team. The role oversees fabrication of core components and non-fuel assemblies, manages shipping packages, and ensures integration with design leadership for on-time fuel load.

Ideal candidates have 9+ years of relevant experience, strong leadership, and a proven ability to build scalable manufacturing and supplier networks while upholding nuclear safety culture and quality standards.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; MS/PhD credits may reduce required years.
• Minimum of 4 years of leadership experience in manufacturing or cross-functional projects.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work with minimal direction and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement and technical sourcing of safety-critical mechanical hardware for the reactor core.
• Translate design requirements into executable procurement packages with BOMs and specs.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans.
• Build and scale the manufacturing engineering organization, recruiting and developing engineers.
• Evaluate and qualify suppliers based on capability, quality systems, and schedule performance.
• Support RFQ development, bid evaluations, and source selection decisions.
• Oversee packaging, documentation, and compliance for shipping of core components.
