Job summary

Amgen in the United States is seeking a Senior Manager, R&D Budget Management & Execution to lead end-to-end budget planning, forecasts, and reporting for assigned R&D organizations. You will partner with functional leaders and R&D Finance to translate strategy into accurate financial plans.

You will manage and develop Budget Management & Execution team members, drive governance, and deliver timely financial insights to support strategic decisions and resource allocation.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree and 2 years of biotech/pharma business operations and/or financial analytics experience
• Master’s degree and 4 years of biotech/pharma business operations and/or financial analytics experience
• Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of biotech/pharma business operations and/or financial analytics experience
• Associate’s degree and 10 years of biotech/pharma business operations and/or financial analytics experience
• High school diploma / GED and 12 years of biotech/pharma business operations and/or financial analytics experience
• Advanced degree in business, finance, life sciences, or a related field

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end budget management and execution process for assigned R&D organization(s).
• Serve as the primary Budget Management & Execution partner for functional leadership and R&D Finance.
• Translate changes in baseline spend, portfolio or operational assumptions into financial implications and forecasts.
• Maintain governance of budget plans with reconciliation of actuals and commitments.
• Develop leadership-ready financial reporting and narratives for budget status and risks.
• Provide analytical support for functional initiatives and business cases.
• Enable execution of capital and operating expense plans through forecasting and alignment with stakeholders.
• Lead and coordinate finance-driven activities such as accruals and PO maintenance.
