Amgen is seeking an R&D Budget Execution Manager (US - Remote) to lead the end-to-end budget execution engine for multiple R&D functions, guiding planning, forecasting, and close processes. You will translate priorities into financial narratives and enable scalable insights across a global team.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree
• Master’s degree and 3 years biotech/pharma business operations and/or financial analytics experience
• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years biotech/pharma business operations and/or financial analytics experience
• Associate’s degree and 10 years biotech/pharma business operations and/or financial analytics experience
• High school diploma / GED and 12 years biotech/pharma business operations and/or financial analytics experience

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end budget execution engine for several R&D functions, delivering timely decisions.
• Partner with functional leadership and R&D Finance to plan and forecast.
• Deliver annual planning, quarterly forecasts and close activities, plus leadership updates.
• Support business case development and procure‑to‑pay guidance.
• Provide project management for functional and cross‑functional initiatives.
• Act as a trusted strategic partner translating priorities into clear financial narratives and dashboards.
• Advance self‑service insights by optimizing dashboards and data products for near‑real‑time metrics.
• Provide analytics on spend, capacity/resource utilization, and variances to inform interventions.
• Support productivity initiatives and KPI design, including benefits realization.
• Improve controls and cycle time through automation and AI-enabled solutions.

Education

Doctorate degree

Master’s degree + 3 years biotech/pharma business operations and/or financial analytics experience
