About the Role
Tubi is looking for a Senior Manager, Publicity to help lead publicity across our distinct slate of Tubi Originals, including movies, series, and creator-led content. We’re looking for an experienced entertainment publicist who knows the traditional publicity playbook inside and out … and who also knows when to throw it out and start from scratch.
The ideal candidate will develop earned strategies that turn titles, talent and creators into cultural moments, finding the story, audience insight or unexpected idea that can make something travel well beyond a traditional launch cycle. This person should be equally credible in a room with talent and their representatives, on the ground at a major industry event, and around a table developing an unconventional idea designed to get fans talking and press reporting.
The right candidate has deep entertainment relationships and excellent talent instincts, but their view of publicity extends beyond junkets, premieres, and red carpets. They are curious about creators, fandoms, internet culture, and the new places and people shaping entertainment conversation. They will work closely with teams across Content, Creator, Integrated Marketing, and International, as well as talent, creators, representatives, producers, and external agency partners.
This is a hybrid role based out of our Los Angeles or New York City office. You must be willing to travel to our office 2-3 days/week.
What You'll Do
- Develop and lead publicity strategies across Tubi Originals, including movies, series, and creator-led content, from early positioning through launch and beyond.
- Find the idea at the center of each campaign: the audience truth, cultural conversation, or earned hook that can make a title or creator matter beyond its launch on Tubi.
- Build campaigns that combine excellent entertainment-publicity fundamentals with unexpected earned ideas, fan participation, creator / cultural partnerships, and opportunities outside traditional entertainment media.
- Lead talent relations strategy across Tubi’s slate, working closely with talent, creators, representatives, and producers and serve as a trusted, credible partner in both everyday and high-stakes moments.
- Represent Tubi and support creative executives and talent at major industry and cultural moments, including awards, festivals, premieres, and other high-profile events.
- Lead media strategy across entertainment, culture, consumer, creator economy, and other relevant verticals, maintaining deep relationships while continually expanding the universe of voices that can make a Tubi story travel.
- Work closely with Tubi’s Creator team to develop publicity approaches that recognize creators as their own media ecosystems and communities, not simply another category of talent.
- Partner across Content, Creator, Brand, and Social to identify ideas that can begin in publicity but travel across channels (or begin somewhere else and become an earned-media opportunity).
- Spot conversations, emerging talent, fandom behavior, and cultural shifts early enough for Tubi to participate meaningfully rather than chase them.
- Counsel senior executives, talent, and creators with confidence and strong judgment, including in sensitive or fast-moving situations.
- Lead external publicity agencies, setting clear strategy and pushing partners beyond expected tactics and media lists.
- Develop sharp messaging, briefing materials, press materials, and executive / talent preparation.
- Manage and mentor junior members of the Publicity team and help raise the creative and strategic bar across the function.
Your Background
- 7+ years of entertainment publicity and communications experience, with significant experience across streaming, television, film, and / or creator-led entertainment.
- Deep relationships across the entertainment ecosystem, including media, talent, representatives, producers, and industry partners.
- Exceptional talent-relations instincts and significant experience advising, preparing, and staffing senior executives and talent at major industry moments.
- A proven ability to develop publicity campaigns that earn attention beyond the traditional entertainment publicity cycle.
- Strong cultural instincts and genuine curiosity about creators, fandom, internet culture, and how entertainment discovery and conversation are changing.
- The ability to move fluidly between Hollywood and broader culture: understanding the conventions and relationships of the industry without being constrained by them.
- Excellent judgment and the confidence to counsel senior stakeholders in high-pressure or ambiguous situations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience leading agencies and managing or mentoring junior team members.
- A strategic thinker who loves ideas but is equally rigorous about execution.
- Someone who asks “why would anyone care?” before “what’s the press plan?
