Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in New Jersey is seeking a Senior Manager, Direct Materials - Cell Therapy to lead global category strategies and supplier relations for the cell therapy supply chain.

You will partner with scientists, operations, and quality to develop a 3-5 year plan, optimize end-to-end processes, and negotiate key agreements to meet category targets across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 5+ years business experience, preferably multi-disciplined procurement or related category domain experience.
• Experience working on cross-functional and/or global teams.
• Skills in stakeholder management, data/information management, category management, process redesign/continuous improvement, project management, and performance measurement.
• Knowledge of procurement, contract management, financial and market analysis, supplier management, strategic planning, and integrated supply chain.
• Master's degree in science, business administration, operations management, engineering, finance, or a technical field.
• Experience in Cell Therapy and/or Biologics.
• Negotiations training with demonstrated results.

Responsibilities

• Develop global category strategies with regional/market variations for assigned spend categories.
• Define buying channels and purchasing policies to ensure compliance and adherence to category strategy (user-centric approach).
• Develop a 3-5-year strategic plan to achieve category targets.
• Lead/support major category initiatives: end-to-end process optimization, make/buy analysis and recommendations, risk management/mitigation, and identification of external innovation.
• Negotiate supply agreements and facilitate other agreements as needed (e.g., CDA's, Quality Agreements).
• Create a business engagement plan and incorporate stakeholder priorities into functional objectives.
• Provide market insights and subject matter expertise to business partners (e.g., scientists, operations, quality).
• Identify/build/maintain relationships with select suppliers via Supplier Relationship Development programs.
• Develop preferred suppliers and manage compliance.
