Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in Parsippany, NJ is seeking a Director – Category Manager EXM-Biologics (BIO) toOwn assigned BIO categories, develop strategies, and lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives. You will drive 3–5 year savings roadmaps, manage supplier relationships, and partner with Strategic Sourcing to execute RFx and contracts.

Strong procurement experience in pharma/biotech environments is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, or Procurement in pharmaceutical/biotech/life sciences or other regulated industries.
• Experience managing External Manufacturing (EXM), CMO/CDMO partnerships, or strategic supplier relationships.
• Experience leading sourcing initiatives, negotiations, supplier engagement, and cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned BIO categories/product technologies; act as category SME.
• Develop and maintain category strategies aligned to business priorities and manufacturing needs.
• Define and deliver 3–5 year savings and improvement roadmaps; support demand planning and capacity assessments.
• Partner with Strategic Sourcing to execute RFx, negotiations, and contracts; guide supplier selection and award decisions.
• Define supplier management strategies; drive performance management and continuous improvement.
• Communicate category plans and risks with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Drive category value initiatives; track and report performance and value delivery.
• Use market intelligence to shape strategies; position Scorpion Therapeutics as a customer of choice.
• Support adoption of category tools and best practices; coach team.

Director – Category Manager EXM-Biologics (BIO)

Responsibilities

• Own assigned BIO categories/product technologies; serve as category SME.
• Develop and maintain category strategies aligned to business priorities, manufacturing needs, and supplier capabilities.
• Define and deliver 3–5 year savings and improvement roadmaps; support demand planning, capacity assessments, and sourcing roadmaps.
• Partner with Strategic Sourcing to execute RFx, negotiations, and contracts; provide expertise on supplier selection, negotiation approaches, and award decisions.
• Define supplier management strategies; guide performance management, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
• Communicate category plans, sourcing activities, risks, and trade-offs with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Drive category value initiatives (cost optimization, sourcing improvements, supplier performance); track and report performance/value delivery.
• Use market/supplier intelligence to shape strategies and decisions; position Teva as a customer of choice.
• Support adoption of category tools/templates/best practices; improve consistency and discipline; coach team.

Qualifications

• Experience in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, or Procurement in pharmaceutical/biotech/life sciences or other regulated industries.
• Experience managing External Manufacturing (EXM), CMO/CDMO partnerships, or strategic supplier relationships.
• Experience leading sourcing initiatives, negotiations, supplier engagement, and cross-functional projects.
• Strong understanding of biologics manufacturing/CDMO networks/outsourced biologics supply chains (highly desirable).
