Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Senior Manager, Direct Materials - Cell Therapy to design global category strategies and oversee Direct Materials for Cell Therapy manufacturing and testing. Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of business experience, preferably with multi-disciplined procurement experience.

  • Procurement process knowledge, contract management, financial analysis, market analysis, supplier management, strategic planning and integrated supply chain experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop global category strategies with regional/market variations that define how purchasing will be done for a given spend category.
  • Define buying channels and purchasing policies to drive compliance and adherence to category strategy, with a user-centric approach.
  • Develop a 3–5-year strategic plan to realize category targets.
  • Lead and/or support major category initiatives including end-to-end process optimization, make/buy analysis and recommendations, risk management and mitigation, and identification of external innovation.
  • Negotiate supply agreements and facilitate negotiation of other agreements as needed (e.g., CDAs, Quality Agreements).
  • Develop business engagement plan and ensure stakeholder priorities and needs are incorporated into functional objectives.
  • Support business growth by providing market insights and subject matter expertise to key Business Partners ranging from scientists to operations and quality teams.
  • Identify, build, and maintain mutually beneficial relationships, partnerships, and alliances with select suppliers through Supplier Relationship Development programs.
  • Develop preferred suppliers within a category of spend and manage compliance.

The primary purpose of the Senior Manager, Direct Materials - Cell Therapy role will be the development of category strategies that support the needs & objectives of the Cell Therapy business unit and deliver on the respective quality, cost, and supply requirements.

This role's scope includes all Direct Materials supporting both internal and external Cell Therapy manufacturing and Critical Quality Testing Materials. Key focus areas will be in the development of and adherence to strategic category management processes including supplier and category segmentation, supplier governance, simplification of purchasing policies, supply risk management program, and ensuring a category plan that garners maximum value from and with our supply base.

Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum education of a bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of business experience, preferably with multi-disciplined procurement experience or related category domain experience is required.
  • Experience participating on cross-functional and/or global teams.
  • Internal stakeholder management, data/information management, category management, process redesign and continuous improvement expertise, project management and performance measurement skills.
  • Procurement process knowledge, contract management, financial analysis, market analysis, supplier management, strategic planning and integrated supply chain experience.
Preferred Requirements
  • M.S., M.B.A., M.A., or equivalent master's degree in science, business administration, operations management, engineering, finance, or another technical field.
  • Experience in Cell Therapy and/or Biologics.
  • Negotiations training with demonstrated results.
Compensation Overview:
  • Madison - Giralda - NJ - US: $140,760 - $170,568
  • Princeton - NJ - US: $140,760 - $170,568

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
