Job summary

AbbVie Patient Services seeks a Manager/Sr. Manager, Patient Services Business Design to translate strategic goals into actionable capabilities and roadmaps, aligning diverse stakeholders across the organization.

The role requires strong business architecture and design instincts, with experience in a highly matrixed healthcare environment. You will collaborate with Business Technology Services, Compliance, Legal, Marketing, and Engagement teams to ensure programs meet patient needs and business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Master’s degree preferred
• Experience working in patient services environment preferred
• 5-7+ years working in healthcare, biopharma, or other regulated environments preferred on teams focused at the product indication, brand, and enterprise level.
• 5+ years translating business needs into solution design.
• 3+ years in Business Design, Business Architecture, Business Analysis, or Business Solutions Architecture.
• Proven ability to manage multiple, complex projects in a highly matrixed environment.
• Demonstrated ability to model business processes and develop capability maps, value stream maps, or operating models.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and structured problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills and highly capable of working at all levels of the organization, including executive level presentations; proven ability to influence and collaborate across diverse, cross-functional teams.
• Experience working in a matrixed organization; healthcare, pharmaceutical, or patient services experience a plus.
• Ability to understand and strictly follow policy, procedures, guidelines, and design solutions that adhere to compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Translate Strategy into Execution: In partnership with Business Design Lead, analyze business goals and objectives; develop actionable plans that connect strategy to people, processes, and technology.
• Business Capability Mapping: Identify, document, and model business capabilities and value streams that enable the organization to deliver positive experiences to patients and stakeholders.
• Process Design & Optimization: Analyze operational processes to identify gaps and inefficiencies; develop structured recommendations and frameworks to drive improvement.
• Architecture Deliverables: Produce and maintain key artifacts including capability models, operating models, gap analyses, value stream maps, and business roadmaps.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Support program development and integration efforts with internal partners and external business partners; provide tactical consultation for care model program processes.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences; build alignment across senior leadership and functional partners.
