Job summary

Royal Caribbean Group is seeking a Sr. Manager of Newbuild Strategy to shape long-term portfolio direction and shipyard partnerships.

You will own competitive intelligence, market analysis, and pricing benchmarks to inform where and how the company builds in the future. The role requires overseeing cross-functional teams, interfacing with executives and external partners, and translating insights into actionable recommendations for strategy and operating models.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and MBA required; strategy consulting or corporate strategy background a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate/commercial strategy, or a related analytical field, ideally with exposure to shipbuilding, maritime, or other capital-intensive industries.
• Cruise, travel, maritime, or shipbuilding industry experience a strong plus.
• Strong financial modeling, benchmarking, and business case analysis experience.
• Experience gathering, structuring, and synthesizing competitive, market, and industry intelligence into actionable insight.
• Excellent writing and presentation creation skills.
• Excellent organizational, communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging and presenting to senior executives.
• Familiarity with commercial and contracting terms and partner/supplier negotiations a plus.
• Self-starter with intellectual curiosity, a strong desire to learn, and passion for creating an excellent work product.
• Demonstrated team player with ability to manage and develop analysts.

Responsibilities

• Owns competitive intelligence for newbuild – tracking competitor fleet plans, orderbooks, technology moves, and industry trends.
• Builds and maintains market intelligence across shipbuilding and cruise industries, monitoring capacity, demand, input costs, and macro factors.
• Partners with Corporate Strategy to maintain an accurate view of the newbuild market for wider strategy.
• Develops and maintains yard intelligence – global shipyard landscape, capacity, capability, and positioning.
• Develops a strategic viewpoint on new market opportunities to broaden yard assessment.
• Shapes future yard engagement strategies and the newbuild operating model across yards/regions.
• Drives development of the portfolio strategy, assessing options, sequencing, and growth opportunities.
• Develops and maintains pricing and model benchmarking to understand costs and value across yards.
