Job summary

BD in North America seeks a Senior Manager, Mechanical Engineering to lead a team of mechanical engineers within the Pharmacy Automation Hardware Engineering group. You will drive functional excellence, establish robust practices, and align the team with the broader Hardware Engineering vision across the BD Pharmacy Automation portfolio.

Reporting to the head of Hardware Engineering, you will develop talent, manage resources, and partner with global colleagues to deliver high-quality product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7 years of related Mechanical Engineering experience.
• 4 years in functional leadership.
• Experience with global teams and external development partners.
• Experience developing and launching a new product.
• Experience in DFSS methodology.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Mechanical Engineering functional authority and champion engineering excellence across the team.
• Establish, standardize, and continuously improve mechanical engineering tools, processes, methodologies, and best practices.
• Drive technical rigor through architecture reviews, design reviews, risk assessments, and problem-solving activities.
• Ensure consistency in engineering approaches, design quality, documentation, and compliance with quality systems.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Assess feasibility and build resource plans for tasks; track progress.
