Senior Investment Strategist, Vice President, Wealth Management

The Senior Investment Strategist will be responsible for structuring portfolios for high net worth clients using an open architecture platform for trust and investment agency accounts, and maintaining meaningful client contact. The successful candidate will thrive in a team-based fiduciary environment, working closely with trust officers, wealth advisors, private bankers, and other colleagues to develop comprehensive client solutions. The role involves business development and requires the ability to work effectively alone or as part of a team to meet or exceed new business goals. Active participation in client events and community involvement is also expected.

They should be able to articulate effectively on financial and investment topics, understand Modern Portfolio Theory, risk-controlled asset allocation, cash flow analysis, and have a solid grasp of the global economy and financial markets. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, a results-driven mindset, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively are essential.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and promote organizational and ethical standards in all business conduct.
  • Stay informed about Comerica's Investment Policy Committee outlook and asset allocation guidelines.
  • Manage existing client portfolios in accordance with their investment policies and Comerica's guidelines.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of Comerica's proprietary strategies and open architecture platform.
  • Keep updated on domestic and international financial markets.
  • Understand current financial regulations, fiduciary standards, and tax laws.
  • Apply the Consultative Investment Management Process, including cash flow analysis, risk-controlled asset allocation, and investment policy development, using approved products and managers.
  • Develop and implement transition plans for new client investments.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to stay informed of personal and financial developments, using this information to guide investment decisions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Participate actively in community organizations to build referral networks and source new business opportunities.
