Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Manager Manufacturing Systems Engineering 2 to lead a team focused on developing, implementing, and transitioning advanced manufacturing and digital worker technologies at Palmdale, CA or El Segundo, CA.

The role drives production efficiency, affordability, quality, and workforce effectiveness across factory environments, with responsibilities spanning solution development, technology transition, and alignment to program needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 9 years of combined technical and leadership experience in engineering, aviation, systems engineering, aerospace, or manufacturing/production.
• Experience leading an engineering team, technical team, project, or integrated product team.
• Experience with project/program management, including proposal support, scheduling, budget tracking, and execution.
• Active DoD Secret clearance with recent reinvestigation or adjudication within 5 years and ability to obtain Special Program Access.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team in development, implementation, and transition of manufacturing systems and process solutions for production applications and advanced technologies.
• Oversee digital worker and manufacturing enablement solutions, including AR/VR, connected worker tools, wearables, edge devices, IIoT, RFID, and data-driven manufacturing capabilities.
• Ensure requirements are incorporated into development plans and evaluate performance in production environments.
• Address technical, schedule, cost, and quality issues to support program objectives.
• Provide leadership on design concepts, maturity, readiness, and specification compliance.
