Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. in Palmdale, CA is seeking an Automation Manufacturing Engineering Manager 2 to guide tooling and automated production initiatives. The role combines leadership with hands-on engineering in a dynamic aerospace manufacturing environment.

The candidate will manage a team supporting drilling, painting, robotics, AGVs, and advanced automation, driving availability and continuous improvement across production systems.

Qualifications

Must have Bachelor's Degree in STEM and 5+ years of related engineering experience in tooling/production environments or a Master’s with 3+ years, focusing on tooling, composites, metals, coatings, and automation.
Must have 2+ years of leadership or management experience.
Experience with CAD tools (NX/Teamcenter/CATIA/SolidWorks) and large-scale tooling projects.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily production availability of all automated equipment.
Ensure performance, sustainment, and continuous improvement of tooling and processes.
Lead engineers responsible for drilling robots, painting robots, AGVs, and other automated technologies.
