Job summary
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Manufacturing Systems Engineer to join the Advanced Manufacturing Technology & Innovation team in Palmdale or El Segundo, CA. You will develop and implement manufacturing tech solutions across composites, automation, inspection, and digital manufacturing.
The role requires a STEM degree with multiple years of experience, ability to travel 20–35%, and the clearance to work with government projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 4 years of experience in engineering, aviation, systems engineering, aerospace, or manufacturing/production
- Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 3–6 years of experience in the same fields
- PhD in a STEM discipline with relevant experience can satisfy the level requirements
- Ability to travel 20–35% and obtain/maintain U.S. Government Secret clearance
Responsibilities
- Define, develop, implement, and transition advanced manufacturing technology solutions
- Incorporate requirements into development plans and evaluate process performance
- Identify issues, initiate corrective actions, and ensure cost objectives are met
- Interface with customers, program offices, engineering teams, and leadership
