Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Elkridge, MD, is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Manager 2 to lead daily mechanical assembly, integration, and test operations. You will supervise 15–20 staff, drive safety, quality, cost, and on-time delivery, and collaborate across functions to meet program goals.

The role requires a Secret clearance, US citizenship, and a track record in Lean/continuous improvement within DoD manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years in Manufacturing/Test; Master's with 6+ years; 12+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Experience mentoring, leading, and/or coaching.
• Experience partnering with cross-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Active/Current U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of mechanical assembly, integration, and test processes.
• Assign and manage operators and test technicians to maximize efficiency.
• Provide direction for employees with direct supervision of up to 15 non-represented employees.
• Oversee status of work in process, material availability, and production problems to ensure availability of resources.
• Plan, manage, and control production schedules to meet delivery requirements.
• Maintain ownership of KPIs driving process control and efficiency.
