Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced Sr. Manager for the New Glenn Stage 1 Landing Gear Subsystem. You will lead a small team from design through rate production, focusing on reusability, safety, and cost efficiency.

You will coordinate cross-functional resources, manage supplier relationships, and drive risk mitigation to meet aggressive program targets while upholding rigorous engineering standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of complex mechanical systems development experience.
• B.S. in an aerospace, mechanical, or systems engineering-related field.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a technical team.
• Excellent technical written and verbal communication skills.
• Travel in support of program, customer, and supplier activities.

Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed aggressive schedule, cost, and performance requirements.
• Champion a design philosophy of reusability, simplicity, and cost-effectiveness across the full Landing Gear Subsystem scope.
• Plan and coordinate resources to design, build, test, qualify, and certify the Landing Gear Subsystem.
• Manage the GS1 Landing Gear Subsystem through the lifecycle—from design to rate production.
• Lead source selection for procured commodities and drive supplier selection and management.
• Identify, track, and mitigate risks to technical performance, cost, and schedule.
• Lead and develop the team through hiring, training, and mentoring; provide hands-on technical leadership.
• Meet recurring cost targets and manage risks against per-flight cost requirements.
