Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Sr. Manager for the New Glenn Stage 1 Landing Gear Subsystem in Seattle.

You will lead a high‑performing team of engineers, drive design, development, test, qualification and production of a clean‑sheet Landing Gear Subsystem for the New Glenn 2.0 booster, and ensure safety, cost, and schedule targets are met. You will mentor the team, coordinate with internal manufacturing and suppliers, and report to the Senior Director of the GS1‑9E Aft Module.

Qualifications

• BS in an aerospace, mechanical, or systems engineering field with 8+ years of complex mechanical systems development experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a technical team with strong leadership and people development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong business and technical judgment.
• Willingness to travel in support of program, customer, and supplier activities.
• Experience with design drawings and GD&T; knowledge of CREO/Windchill and ANSYS workflows.

Responsibilities

• Meet aggressive schedule, cost, and performance targets; drive engineering speed and efficiency.
• Champion reusability, simplicity, and cost-effectiveness across the Landing Gear Subsystem.
• Plan and coordinate resources to design, build, test, qualify, and certify the Landing Gear Subsystem.
• Lead the GS1 Landing Gear Subsystem through lifecycle from design to rate production.
• Oversee supplier selection and management for procured commodities.
• Identify and mitigate risks to technical performance and schedule.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentor the team.
• Monitor per-flight cost targets and manage related risks.
• Maintain safety analyses, fault trees, reliability assessments, and hazard reviews.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to enable first-time builds.
