Job summary

TIAA’s Corporate Controller group seeks a Senior Manager to lead statutory accounting and financial reporting for insurance and reinsurance activities. You will oversee US-based and Bermuda-related processes, mentor a diverse team, and partner with senior leadership on complex accounting positions.

The role emphasizes close, reconciliations, and governance across multiple entities, leveraging automation and cross-functional collaboration to meet regulatory and stakeholder expectations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with life and annuity insurance SAP and annual statements (Blue/Green Book).
• 7+ years of experience with life and annuity insurance SAP and annual statements (Blue/Green Book).
• CPA credential and experience in financial services are preferred.
• Experience coordinating monthly close, journal entries, and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Lead close process for insurance/reinsurance activities with timely, accurate reporting.
• Review and approve journal entries; ensure proper support and policy-compliant classifications.
• Oversee reconciliations, resolve items, and maintain strong internal controls.
• Act as Financial Reporting Owner for operating subsidiaries and ensure proper accounting in financial statements.
• Drive efficiency and automation across US and India teams; coordinate with external auditors.
