Job summary

Anthropic is hiring a Senior Manager, Infrastructure Lease Accounting to own end-to-end accounting for its infrastructure lease portfolio. You will apply ASC 842, coordinate with Real Estate, Legal, and Finance, and drive scalable controls as the company grows, partnering with engineering and operations to improve cost transparency.

You will mentor accounting professionals, collaborate with external auditors, and advance automation leveraging AI tooling to improve financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• Strong ASC 842 knowledge, particularly for infrastructure, data center, or compute-related arrangements.
• Experience managing a significant lease portfolio in a high-growth environment.
• Analytical abilities with large, complex datasets.
• Track record of scalable financial processes improvements.
• Experience mentoring accounting professionals.
• Able to translate technical accounting concepts for non-finance stakeholders.
• Clear communication across cross-functional partners.
• Experience partnering with engineering, infrastructure, or operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end accounting for infrastructure lease portfolio, incl. monthly close, reconciliations, roll-forwards, and flux analysis.
• Apply ASC 842 expertise to lease classification, measurement, modifications, embedded leases, and reassessments.
• Partner with Real Estate, Legal, and Finance during contract negotiation to assess accounting implications.
• Act as a trusted finance partner, explaining financial impact to non-finance stakeholders.
• Collaborate to improve upstream data pipelines from operations and contract systems.
• Design and scale systems, processes, and controls to support a growing portfolio.
• Mentor accounting professionals across the Infrastructure Accounting team.
• Serve as a point of contact with external auditors on lease accounting matters.
• Drive process improvements and automation, including AI tooling, for reporting accuracy.
