Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Senior Manager, Infrastructure Lease Accounting to lead end-to-end accounting for its infrastructure lease portfolio, applying ASC 842 expertise and partnering with Real Estate, Legal, and Finance. This role supports a rapidly growing, $50bn compute infrastructure initiative and requires strong analytical and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge of ASC 842, particularly as applied to infrastructure, data center, or compute-related arrangements.
• Experience managing a significant lease portfolio in a high-growth environment.
• Demonstrate strong analytical abilities and comfort working with large, complex datasets.
• Track record of improving scalable financial processes in fast-moving environments.
• Experience mentoring and developing accounting professionals.
• Adept at translating technical accounting concepts into financial implications for non-finance stakeholders.
• Clear communication and influence across cross-functional partners.
• Experience partnering with engineering, infrastructure, or operations teams to improve financial reporting and cost transparency.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end accounting for one of Anthropic's AI infrastructure lease portfolio, including monthly close, reconciliations, roll-forwards, and flux analysis
• Apply technical accounting expertise to complex infrastructure arrangements under ASC 842
• Partner with Real Estate, Legal, and Finance teams during contract negotiation and execution to ensure accounting implications are understood
• Serve as a trusted finance partner to non-finance stakeholders
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve the quality of upstream data pipelines from operational and contract systems
• Design and scale systems, processes, and controls to support a rapidly growing lease portfolio
• Collaborate with and mentor accounting professionals across the Infrastructure Accounting team
• Serve as a key point of contact with external auditors on lease accounting matters
• Drive process improvements and automation, including leveraging AI tooling, to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting
