Job summary

Weil seeks a Sr. Manager, Information Governance & Records Compliance to lead the Firm’s governance framework across jurisdictions, translating requirements into practical standards, workflows, and oversight.

You will develop controls for data retention and AI governance, oversee data preservation, and partner with legal, IS, and business stakeholders to strengthen compliance posture. The role demands 6+ years in IG/Risk/Compliance, experience in professional services, and strong data privacy

Qualifications

• 6+ years of IG, Risk, or Compliance experience.
• Experience within a law firm, legal department or professional services environment preferred.
• Demonstrated experience implementing and monitoring compliance programs.
• Strong understanding of data privacy and regulatory requirements.
• Working knowledge of enterprise data environments including on-prem and cloud.
• Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree required; certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Firm’s information governance and records compliance framework across jurisdictions.
• Translate regulatory and client requirements into practical standards, workflows, and oversight mechanisms.
• Develop and enforce policies, controls, and reporting for data retention and AI governance.
• Oversee data preservation and disposition processes across the technology stack.
• Coordinate with compliance, legal, IS, and business stakeholders to translate policy into practice.
• Escalate issues to senior leadership and recommend corrective action.
• Support training on retention, disposition, and client requirements.
• Identify nonconformities through audits and drive continuous improvement.
