Job summary

Glovis America, Inc. in Irvine, CA is seeking a Senior Manager, Freight Forwarding Accounting to oversee revenue and cost accounting for the Freight Forwarding business.

This role collaborates with Freight Forwarding teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP/IFRS. The position focuses on monthly reporting, revenue recognition testing, cost trend analysis, and presenting results to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS concepts.
• Experience in freight forwarding or logistics accounting preferred.
• Proficient in SAP and MS Excel with good PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reports, including revenue and cost analysis for management.
• Conduct the revenue recognition tests to ensure proper revenue recognition under GAAP/IFRS.
• Monitor and analyze cost trends, variances, and provide insights for cost improvements.
• Review month-end closing results and present financials to leaders via reports.
• Review accrual trends and follow up on billing status with Freight Forwarding department.
• Analyze general ledger balances, prepare reconciliations, and explain P&L variances.
• Monitor business trends and provide requested trend analyses.
• Perform revenue and cost activities, process invoices accurately and timely.
• Compare business plans to actuals for current year and prior year.
• Create written and visual explanations for management presentations.
• Assist auditors and maintain SOX controls around AR/AP processes.
