Overview:
TrustedTech is seeking a Sr. Manager, FP&A with a builder’s mentality, genuine intellectual curiosity, and a forward-thinking approach to data and AI tooling. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this person will own forecasting, reporting, analysis, and insights that support and influence strategic decisions across the business.
This is a high-ownership, low-bureaucracy role. You will play a key role in building the reporting the company runs on, and you will partner directly with Sales, Operations, Accounting, and FinOps leadership. The right candidate doesn’t wait for direction or a fully built system. They arrive with the technical depth to extract and work with data directly, the financial rigor, and the cross-functional instincts to partner effectively across a fast-moving, multi-functional organization.
Responsibilities:
- Own the consolidated operating model (revenue, gross margin, headcount, and OpEx) and maintain it as the single source of truth for the monthly forecast, quarterly reforecast, and annual budget.
- Lead the monthly close-to-report cycle in partnership with Accounting: budget-to-actual variance analysis, driver-based commentary, and a leadership reporting package delivered on a predictable calendar.
- Build and maintain revenue and margin analytics specific to the Microsoft channel: product mix, seat and license volume, renewal and churn behavior, gross and net revenue retention, and effective margin by product family and business unit.
- Model and track vendor economics: Microsoft partner incentives, program changes, and the quantified impact on gross margin, cash flow, and pricing strategy.
- Partner with Sales leadership on pipeline-to-revenue conversion, quota and capacity planning, sales compensation modeling, and customer and segment profitability.
- Own working capital and cash forecasting; the direct bill and CSP model is billing- and collections-intensive, so DSO, deferred revenue, and vendor payment timing are core to the forecast.
- Build the KPI and dashboard layer the business runs on, leveraging AI and partnering with the FinOps Engineer to scale reporting, planning, and BI tooling within TrustedTech’s Microsoft Fabric environment.
- Prepare executive reporting materials, including supporting schedules and strategic-level narrative.
- Lead ad hoc strategic analysis: pricing decisions, deal margins, Microsoft incentive impact modeling, and potential M&A and integration modeling.
- Drive continuous improvement in FP&A process, systems, and data integrity; utilizing AI tools with a thoughtful, balanced approach to efficiency and accuracy.
Required Skills & Qualifications (must-haves):
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of progressive corporate FP&A experience.
- Demonstrated ability to own a full forecast and budget cycle, including building and maintaining a three-statement or driver-based operating model end-to-end.
- Expert-level Excel and financial modeling skills, including the ability to build a clean, auditable model from a blank sheet.
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP fundamentals and the ability to work fluently with Accounting on close, accruals, and deferred revenue.
- Proven ability to distill complex analysis into clear, concise recommendations for executive and non-financial audiences, in writing and live.
- A builder's mindset and comfort operating without a large support structure — this is a lean team, and the role is hands-on from data pull through final deliverable.
- Forward-thinking, curious mindset leaning into AI tools with careful thought around balancing efficiency and operating leverage with accuracy and cost of ownership.
- High degree of intellectual honesty, discretion with confidential information, and accuracy under tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications (nice-to-haves):
- Experience in the Microsoft partner ecosystem (CSP, direct bill), or in other SaaS, IT distribution & services, or software resale.
- Familiarity with Microsoft licensing constructs and partner incentive programs, and how they flow through revenue and margin.
- Hands-on experience with a planning or CPM tool (Anaplan, Pigment, Planful, Vena, Workday Adaptive) and ownership of an implementation or migration; for future consideration
- Experience with Claude AI and other analytical tools, such as SQL, Power BI, or Tableau, and comfort working directly with source data rather than waiting on reports.
- Experience with NetSuite ERP and with CRM data from Salesforce.
- MBA, CPA, or CFA.
- A mix of experience at large and small enterprises.
- M&A experience: modeling, diligence support, or post-close integration in a roll-up or acquisitive environment.
- Prior experience in a high-growth company that scaled through a revenue inflection and built finance processes from the ground up.
