General Description

The Senior Manager, Facilities Maintenance leads the day-to-day operations and long-term planning for facilities upkeep, safety, and compliance across multiple sites. This role is responsible for managing personnel, contractors, and vendors while driving operational excellence in preventive and corrective maintenance programs. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with hands-on leadership skills and deep knowledge of building systems, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all maintenance operations across facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural, and grounds services.
• Supervise and develop a team of facility managers, technicians, and support staff.
• Develop and enforce maintenance policies, procedures, and KPIs to ensure high performance and safety.
• Manage vendor and contractor relationships, including negotiation of service agreements and performance oversight.
• Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Operations, Safety, Compliance, Finance) to align facility needs with business goals.
• Monitor budgets, control costs, and forecast capital expenditures for maintenance and infrastructure improvements.
• Ensure full compliance with OSHA, ADA, fire safety, environmental, and other regulatory standards.
• Lead emergency response efforts, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity initiatives.
• Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to optimize workflows, reporting, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Identify opportunities for sustainability improvements and cost efficiencies through energy management and equipment upgrades.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 7+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Proven experience managing large-scale facilities or multi-site operations.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance protocols, safety standards, and vendor management.
• Proficiency in CMMS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional organizational, budgeting, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage emergency situations and high-pressure environments calmly and effectively.

Preferred Certifications

• Certified Facility Manager (CFM)
• Facilities Management Professional (FMP)
• OSHA 30-hour Certification
• LEED Accredited Professional (optional)
