Job summary

SHRM seeks a Manager, Event Engagement to lead planning, development, and execution of event engagement across a diverse portfolio, from executive gatherings to large conferences up to 26,000 attendees. You will translate strategy into live experiences, overseeing creative direction, branding, and production.

You will manage multiple events, budget oversight, and external partners, while guiding a team and aligning with organizational objectives and brand standards.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years in corporate events or conferences.
• Experience planning and managing city-wide conferences/expos.
• Experience managing and developing team members.
• Experience managing complex or seven-figure budgets.
• Experience managing major external partners such as production companies and agencies.
• Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills with multiple workstreams and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Good judgment, organization and attention to detail.
• Collaborative mindset with ability to work with senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead Main Stage production from concept to onsite execution.
• Oversee stage, scenic, and production design with stakeholders and vendors.
• Develop show flows, executive presentations, run-of-show materials.
• Collaborate with SHRM comms on scripting for main stage experiences.
• Coordinate rehearsals, technical checks, speaker prep, live stage execution.
