Human Resources Manager at IMS Technology Services | Strategic HR Leadership and Employee Engagement

IMS produces and manages project scope for corporate meetings and large-scale events, product and market launches, press events, hospitality events, experiential marketing, and custom events. The Senior Production Manager is an integral part of the IMS Technology Services Event Staging team, providing superior event management through research and understanding of the expected experience, communication, coordination, and holding the team accountable. This is evidenced by their unique approach and strong relationships established for each client to create an all-encompassing event budget, manage the internal process and team members, manage costs and expenses to drive IMS profit standards, and guarantee the appropriate technology support onsite. Under the direct supervision of the Sr. Director of Production and the VP of Production Management, they are expected to be intrinsically motivated toward personal and professional excellence in driving clients’ perception of IMS service, quality, on-time delivery, and problem‑solving.

Position Accountabilities and Expectations:
  • Strategic ability to conceive, develop and coordinate successful events that achieve outlined objectives and exceed client expectations.
  • Independently manage multiple concurrent projects with a high degree of technical complexity and all related activities including pre‑event planning, logistics, on‑site execution and post‑event recaps.
  • Create and manage project budgets to IMS standards and KPIs with an understanding of financial risk identification and escalation parameters.
  • Provide cost analysis on all budgets managed.
  • Personally accountable for resource management from planning through project closeout including resource, labor, and third‑party vendors.
  • Partner with Business Development team in the design, budgeting, and delivery of project quotes and proposals on time, on budget and in process including the management of and communication with internal and external resources.
  • Translate client information and feedback, needs analysis, and site survey information into a solutions‑oriented, fully designed and engineered proposal.
  • Collaborate with internal and external design and operations teams to ensure projects are successfully engineered and prepared.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to internal and external teams in negotiation of vendor and venue contracts leveraging industry knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to secure competitive pricing and elevate the IMS brand.
  • Contribute to developing standards that support the design and sales process while providing ideas and solutions for projects and events.
  • Identify new methods and resources for event trends, planning, and resources within accounts. Establish best practice guidelines for future opportunities.
  • Maintain and update Outlook with tasks, appointments, meetings, and other event‑related activities.
What you will bring:
  • A minimum of 5‑7 years of event project management experience, with at least 5 years of experience supporting on‑site event operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications/marketing and/or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Independently driven to manage time, prioritize tasks, and develop client relationships.
  • Professional communication in written and verbal forms. Ability to tailor communication appropriate to different audiences including C‑Suite clients, peers, vendors, and on‑site staff.
  • Sound decision‑making and problem‑solving skills based on agency, client, and industry knowledge to maintain quality standards, company values, protocols, and processes.
  • Strong project planning and organizational skills to effectively manage multiple, concurrent programs and resources while maintaining and elevating the standard of service and quality across all.
  • Motivational leadership with an understanding of strategies to influence and/or provide clear project plan deliverables and solutions.
  • Able to lead medium‑to‑large‑scale events with multiple agencies, vendors, and client involvement.
  • Recognizes conflict‑provoking or significant cost variation concerns and facilitates effective communication and appropriate resolutions among stakeholders.
  • Willingness to be flexible and adapt to the changes in the project schedule.
  • Willing and able to work non‑traditional work hours, including weekends and travel (up to 50 %).
  • Microsoft Office, Vector Works, and Mac OS experience required.
