Job summary

Amazon's Worldwide Environmental Assurance and Protection (EAP) team leads the drive for environmental regulatory excellence across the business. The Sr. Mgr, EAP establishes a unified compliance vision, aligns across units, and builds multi-year plans with budgets and milestones.

The role requires translating complex requirements for executives and legal teams, using data to drive improvements at scale, and embedding compliance into everyday operations. Significant travel is expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in risk management, audit, legal, compliance or related field with external stakeholders experience
• 7+ years of team management with 5+ direct reports
• Experience with program management spanning planning, execution and project delivery
• Experience communicating to executive-level audiences and cross-functional partners
• Experience working with and managing third-party vendors
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) or related field

Responsibilities

• Establish cross-organizational alignment on a unified environmental compliance vision across business units and planning cycles
• Own the strategic program roadmap including media-specific compliance programs and field execution frameworks
• Develop multi-year operating plans, budgets, and resource allocation strategies balancing immediate obligations with long-term investments
• Implement program controllership mechanisms to drive speed, quality, and accountability
• Communicate strategy, status and escalation risks to Director and VP-level audiences
• Partner with Legal, regulators, consultants, and technology teams to resolve barriers and accelerate solutions
• Define and govern KPI and compliance metric frameworks providing real-time visibility
• Lead talent management including hiring, onboarding and development planning
• Oversee work by contractors and vendors with audit and governance
• Operate autonomously in ambiguous regulatory environments to deliver compliance outcomes
• Embed environmental objectives into day-to-day operations
• Travel up to 25-50% of the time
