Job summary

Altria is seeking a Senior Manager and Editor, Regulatory Submissions Strategy to join its Regulatory Affairs Organization in Richmond, VA or fully remote. The role develops, writes, and edits FDA submission documents, translating complex science into clear, compliant content while upholding editorial standards.

You will lead strategy, coordinate editors, and manage key stakeholder relationships. You will work with scientists and senior leaders to deliver high-quality regulatory communications

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in regulatory, scientific, legal or related field.
• 8+ years writing or editing business, public affairs, regulatory, scientific, or legal documents.
• Working knowledge of FDA processes and requirements; direct FDA submissions experience preferred.
• Strong written and editorial skills with attention to detail and grammar.
• Ability to synthesize complex scientific information and communicate clearly.
• Proven influence and collaboration across diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint; regulatory publishing systems preferred.
• Experience with AI tools to increase efficiency; RIM tool experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategy for large-scale FDA submission documents.
• Write and edit submission documents integrating science and advocacy.
• Edit and proofread content including printed materials and slide decks.
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality, compliant written materials with version control.
• Manage relationships with scientists, senior management, and project managers to deliver top-quality content.
• Supervise and coordinate contract editorial resources to meet timelines.
