Job summary

Altria Group, Inc. seeks a Senior Manager and Editor for Regulatory Submissions Strategy in Richmond, VA. The role develops, writes, edits, and proofs complex regulatory communications, including FDA submissions, working with scientists, project managers, and leadership to ensure clear, compliant content.

You will oversee editorial standards, coordinate resources, and drive high-quality documents on tight deadlines in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in regulatory, scientific, legal, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience writing or editing business, public affairs, regulatory, scientific, or legal documents.
• Knowledge of FDA processes; direct experience developing FDA submissions preferred.
• Strong editorial skills with attention to detail, grammar, style, and usage.
• Ability to synthesize complex scientific information with critical-thinking.
• Ability to influence without authority and collaborate across stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint; familiarity with regulatory publishing systems.
• RIM tool experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategy for large-scale FDA submission documents.
• Write and edit submission documents integrating science and advocacy.
• Edit and proofread content ensuring clarity and editorial style.
• Ensure timely delivery and version control across large documents.
• Manage relationships with scientists, management, and authors.
• Coordinate contract editorial resources to meet timelines and quality.
