The Role:
The Senior Manager, Drug Production Finance, will play a critical role in managing Moderna's internal and external vendor spend required to package our products (~$0.5 billion). This role involves a heavy focus on managing the spend related to our external Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) in the United States, Canada, and Europe. The successful candidate will partner closely with the Global Drug Product Operations team to ensure financial efficiency and effectiveness in our drug production processes.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Lead the development of annual budgets and reforecasting efforts, incorporating quarterly trend analyses, consolidation of projections, and proactive risk management.
Monitor and control budgets, forecasts, and expenditures related to drug production and packaging.
Provide operational and strategic financial analyses to support business decisions, and pivot fearlessly using data-driven insights and ROI metrics to inform decision-making.
Deliver insightful analysis on operational performance, leveraging a mindset of digitize everywhere possible to enhance analytics and reporting capabilities, driving dynamic range in strategy and execution.
Question convention and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance team to enhance process efficiency and improve the flow of information, fostering a remove viscosity environment for smoother operations.
Reporting:
Oversee the month-end reporting process for the Global Drug Product Leadership Team and budget owners, ensuring that key stakeholders fully understand the monthly financial results.
Design and maintain financial reporting dashboards and datasets to enable prompt and accurate reporting, digitizing everywhere possible to enhance data accessibility and analysis.
Operational Finance Support:
Handle day-to-day purchase requisition approvals and assist the accounting operations team during month-end close, focusing on spend-related accruals.
Ensure timely and precise recognition of expenditure activities, maintaining a behave like owners’ commitment to financial accuracy and integrity.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
6+ years of progressive experience in related field, including financial planning & analysis, and/or financial operations roles.
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA and/or CPA preferred.
Experience with CMC finance in the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry, advanced analytical platforms, and visualization tools.
Experience with Tier 1 ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and financial planning and reporting tools is preferred.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with proficiency in Excel-based financial modeling.
