The Senior Manager, Technical Product Manager designs, develops, and manages activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life. Responsible for the full product lifecycle management, with a technical focus, including strategy, design, development, management, and end of life of new, existing, or acquisition products. Leverage market insights to understand market/customer needs as well as emerging technology developments and trends to identify new opportunities or adjust current product offerings. Balance deep subject matter expertise in the product, business use cases, and strong technical aptitude. Accountable for delivering product performance against expectations and updating changes to a product portfolio to improve competitive position and meet customer and market needs. Own and/or report on the P&L. Manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships, including design, engineering, scrum teams, and business leaders, functioning as a technical expert with fluency in development concepts and modern practices. Positions in this role may require a background or degree in computer science or engineering.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Research and conceptualize market requirements of assigned product features through market analysis, competitor analysis, compliance analysis (PPACA, HIPAA), etc.
  2. Define detailed requirements and functions of the assigned features of the HIX system.
  3. Collaborate with UI & UX teams to define wireframes and visuals reflecting the requirements.
  4. Prepare requirement documentation such as User Stories, FSD, BRD, etc.
  5. Facilitate meetings with external clients and internal teams to review, walkthrough, and demo product features.
  6. Participate in agile ceremonies (User Story creation, grooming, scrum, defect support, PO reviews, etc.) with all involved stakeholders.
  7. Mentor and review the work of other Business Analysts working on product features.
  8. Own certain product modules from a management perspective and become the SME of these modules.
  9. Contribute to product roadmap, RFP responses, and lead team initiatives.
  10. Manage a team of Business Analysts/Product Analysts.

Required Qualifications
  • 12+ years of experience in information technology.
  • 8+ years of experience working on software products as a Business Analyst or Product Manager.
  • 8+ years of detailed business analysis and requirement documentation skills.
  • 5+ years working with globally distributed teams.
  • 5+ years of US Healthcare domain experience.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without restrictions; proof will be required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related fields.
  • 2+ years experience with the Affordable Care Act and/or Medicaid systems (MAGI or Non-MAGI), HIX, or IES.
  • 2+ years experience with HIX/IES/Medicaid Eligibility systems.
  • Remote employees must adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually, based on full-time employment and various factors including location, experience, and certifications. UnitedHealth Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contributions, among others.
