Job summary

BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. seeks a highly skilled Senior Manager to join the TOPS Finance team. The role focuses on inventory costing, SOX compliance, and ERP support, collaborating with regional and global finance colleagues and technical operations. A CPA and manufacturing ERP experience are preferred.

The position offers hybrid work from near San Rafael, CA, with remote options within the US and opportunities for advancement in a global biopharma leader focused on rare diseases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required. CPA or equivalent is desired.
• Minimum five years’ experience in a manufacturing business with audited financial statements.
• Experience in US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, and internal control environment essential.
• Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives and collaborate cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Maintain internal controls for inventory accounting in line with policy, US GAAP and SOX requirements.
• Ensure accurate inventory balances and costing, incl. overhead absorption and COGS recognition.
• Oversee period close activities for US entity incl. cost of goods sold entries and reconciliations.
• Support ERP improvement projects and system enhancements as needed.
• Establish strong working relationships with Tax, FP&A, GL Accounting, and ERP teams.
• Coach junior staff and drive development opportunities to keep the team engaged.
