Job summary

BioMarin, a leader in rare disease biotechnology, seeks an experienced Senior Accountant to own fixed asset accounting, CAPEX, and related OPEX processes. This hybrid role (in San Rafael) requires partnering with project teams, FP&A, audits, and other finance functions to ensure accurate, timely financial close and strong internal controls.

Key responsibilities include asset tracking, depreciation calculations, SOX compliance support, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years accounting experience, including 3+ years fixed assets/CAPEX.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and depreciation methods.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with large data sets.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end fixed asset accounting, additions, disposals, transfers, impairments, and depreciation.
• Maintain fixed asset subledger and align with general ledger.
• Lead monthly close activities: journal entries, reconciliations, rollforwards, variance analysis.
• Coordinate internal/external audits for fixed assets.
• Support capital project spend monitoring and capitalization decisions.
• Provide depreciation/ CAPEX forecasting input to FP&A and partners.
