Job summary

StepStone Group is seeking an experienced accounting professional to own key consolidation and financial reporting workstreams across the firm's corporate entities and consolidated fund structures. This role will also serve as a technical accounting resource for complex and non-routine transactions, support SEC reporting, and maintain accounting policies related to consolidation and U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of seven years of progressive accounting experience in a public-company, multinational, or otherwise complex organization.
• CPA
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including consolidation accounting and technical accounting matters involving complex or non-routine transactions.
• Experience preparing technical accounting memoranda and supporting external financial statement audits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly and quarterly global consolidation processes across corporate entities and consolidated fund structures.
• Maintain accounting conclusions for consolidated entities and funds, including ASC 810 VIE assessments.
• Prepare and review consolidation schedules, eliminations, and supporting analyses for the general ledger close and financial reporting process.
• Support automation and technology solutions to improve accounting and reporting processes.
• Draft and maintain accounting policies that support U.S. GAAP conclusions.
• Support the preparation and review of SEC filings, including consolidation and fund-related disclosures.
• Partner with Fund Accounting to ensure accurate integration of GP entities and consolidated fund results.
• Serve as a key contact for auditors on consolidation and technical accounting matters.
• Support the SOX control environment related to financial reporting and consolidation processes.
• Lead assigned workstreams, provide technical guidance, and review and develop the work of junior team members.
