Job summary

Texans Together seeks a Sr. Manager, Intake and Placement to oversee assessing, searching and placing children into care settings based on service packages and safety needs. You will lead strategies oriented toward family and child wellbeing and reduce placements without disruption.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, 10 years in child welfare and 3 years in supervisory roles, with collaboration across providers and DFPS. Office-based in Regions 6a/6b, with staffing plans finalized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Ten years' professional experience in child welfare.
• Three years in management/supervisory roles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee intake of new referrals and ensure equitable staff assignment.
• Coordinate timely, accurate placement referrals to providers.
• Develop systems to track placement discharges and ensure timely referrals.
• Triage cases by urgency, safety and placement needs.
• Train team to match children to least restrictive, most appropriate placements.
• Establish relationships with providers for quality assurance checks.
• Monitor placement availability and ensure capacity is utilized.
• Supervise intake and placement staff, providing training and feedback.
• Develop protocols for timely and uninterrupted placements.
